Description

For over three decades, the Kornmarkt has been firmly in the hands of flying traders once a week. Here, one can purchase everything essential for bodily well-being every Friday between 8 AM and 6 PM. Fresh eggs, cheese, sausage, fish, honey, as well as flowers or the hearty grilled sausage for a snack. If the weekly market falls on a holiday, it takes place the Wednesday before.

Grilled Sausage Toni
A snack institution in the district is also represented at the weekly market. Timo Weber from Dillenburg, alias "Grilled Sausage Toni". Officially, the stand operates under "Toni's Grilled Sausages from the Charcoal Grill" - but that would be a bit too formal...

Bakery Gath
Simone and Detlef Gath are familiar faces at the market. They bake bread on-site in a wood-fired oven, and their pastries and tarte flambée are as popular as their pretzels. The company is based in Neunkirchen and has been present at the weekly market for over a decade.

Jaqui's Mobile Café
Poffertjes, coffee, or bubble waffles - at Jaqui's mobile café, no wish remains unfulfilled. Jaqueline Weis has been a staple of the weekly market with her sweet treats for several years.

Fruit Box Wetzlar
Karl-Ernst Oerter supplies the Herborn weekly market with fruit and vegetables through his Fruit Box Wetzlar.

Bakery Zickel
Owner Reiner Zickel has been offering everything made in-house since 1988. The Ballersbach bakery exclusively uses grain from the local area.

Kirschbaum Cheese & Delicacies
For over a quarter of a century, customers have been able to find everything related to cheese at the stand of Kirschbaum Cheese and Delicacies from Betzdorf. Owner Sonja Kirschbaum mainly offers cheese from Switzerland, Italy, and France, as well as fresh cheese, soft cheese, Parmesan, and fresh pasta and poultry salad. 

Butchery Schorge
Heinrich Schorge's butchery from Weidenhausen offers meat and sausage products made in-house and even slaughtering. This stand has been a part of the weekly market since it began. Since early 2022, the company has a new owner in Lukas Graf.

Dillenberger Flowers GmbH
Undoubtedly, the stand of the Scholz family from Wilnsdorf is one of the crowd magnets of the Herborn weekly market. Potted and cut flowers of all kinds change owners every Friday. The allure has remained just as strong at the new location by the "Linde".

Smoked-Fish Schorsch
The "Smoked-Fish Schorsch" was founded in 2010 and sells its goods exclusively at weekly markets. Available are sea fish, local fish from the region, smoked fish, and salads. The smoked fish partly comes from their own smokehouse. The specialty is cold-smoked salmon. ATTENTION: In Herborn, the fish cart is only present from around 2 PM onwards. www.räucher-schorsch.de

Poultry Farm Motzkuhn
Another one of the original market vendors is Günther Motzkuhn from Herdorf: For over three decades, he has delighted his customers with roasted chickens, poultry, sausages, and noodles. The products come from the Münsterland.

Delicacies Murat Aygün
With olives, sheep cheese, and other specialties, Aygün Delicacies from Aßlar has attracted customers to the market for nearly two decades. A special specialty is the "Integration Cheese." Mediterranean food products from Greece, Spain, Italy, and Germany, the majority of which are produced in-house.

Beekeeping Pfeifer
Martin Pfeifer's honey is produced by his own bees around Ewersbach. Nothing is bought in, and as a beekeeper, he has decades of experience and regularly visits honey exhibitions.

Butchery Andreas Herr
The Herr Butchery has been present at the weekly market for about three decades and offers homemade sausage products, beef, and pork. The pigs are sourced from agricultural businesses in North Hesse, with the quality seal "Good from Hesse." The beef comes from Schwalmstadt and is slaughtered in Manderbach.

Sun Farm Buseck / Dairy Scheld
At the Sun Farm in Buseck, operated by the Scheld family since the 1970s, the focus is on livestock and milk products. About 60 cows live on the Sun Farm, enjoying pasture grazing and animal-friendly husbandry. With the milk, cheese products are made in the on-site dairy and offered at local markets. The contact person in Herborn is Carmen Scheld.

Pioneers of the Weekly Market
Egg Farm Fuchskaute
The owner of the legendary goose "Frieda," who unfortunately passed away in March 2022, Wolfgang Schäfer, was a "man of the first hour" of the Herborn weekly market. His egg farm is based in Waigandshain. Together with his goose "Aunt Frieda," he was one of the landmarks of the market for over 30 years. Since summer 2022, he enjoys his well-deserved retirement. His loyal feathered companion over countless market days, Frieda, will certainly be unforgettable for many market visitors of all ages. Her watchful gaze successfully prevented many an egg theft. Market visitors often treated her to a delicacy (grapes were always a favorite). Since 2022, Daniela Laufer has been present for the Egg Farm Fuchskaute in Herborn.
