Notice
In the tour planner we inform you under the tab "Current info" about temporary route changes, closures and detours.
The start and finish point is the Bruch parking lot, directly next to the Oberlahr fire station. The parking lot is free to use. Nordic walking route no. 2 leads opposite the hotel park "Der Westerwald-Treff" onto the so-called old railway embankment. The first section, along the Wied river, is marked with tips and exercises for the correct walking technique (the so-called technique route). The railway track passes the Alvensleben tunnel (former drainage tunnel of the Louise mine) until the Kur-Kölner-Straße in Burglahr. Then you turn left directly into the path "Webershahn". From here, the path goes uphill over a beautiful meadow and forest trail. When you reach the top (T-junction), you have 2 options. The right loop leads past the Waldhotel Heiderhof, with a beer garden and a small wildlife enclosure. It's worth stopping here. The path then leads back to the starting T-junction. If you take the left path, you will be led back towards Oberlahr, again passing the hotel park "Der Westerwald-Treff", back to the start and finish point.

The free visitor parking Bruch belongs to the "Lahrer Herrlichkeit", former Brucher mill, and is located slightly outside the local community of Oberlahr. It is relatively large, shaded, and easy to find as it is directly next to the Oberlahr fire station. An information board shows which Nordic walking routes are possible. Route no. 2 is well signposted and leads for a short stretch along the L269. Opposite the hotel park "Der Westerwald-Treff", it goes onto the so-called old railway embankment of the former Wiedtalbahn. The first 200 m run over a beautiful private path with a small Virgin Mary statue. The following straight section is marked with tips and exercises for correct walking technique (so-called technique route). The technique route ends at a small path junction. Route 2 then continues (slightly offset) straight ahead, further along the Wied, on the former railway track. After about 1.5 km of straight route, the Alvensleben tunnel (tunnel tours possible by appointment) and the community center of Burglahr lie on the left side. The path ends at the Kur-Kölner-Straße and leads directly left again up the street "Webershahn". Before that, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the castle to the right. Above "Webershahn" street, turn left uphill over a beautiful meadow and forest path. When you reach the top (forest path T-junction), you have 2 options. The right path leads past the Waldhotel Heiderhof, with a beer garden and a small wildlife enclosure. The path loop then leads back to the starting forest T-junction. If you take the left path directly, you will be led back towards Oberlahr, again passing the hotel park "Der Westerwald-Treff", back to the start and finish point.
If there has been heavy rain beforehand, sturdy footwear is required as the path has been churned up in places due to forestry operations.
Visit the Alvensleben tunnel in Burglahr, the castle, or the Heinrichshof cheese dairy.
Obersteinebach with reservoir, places to eat, and fishing opportunities.
Visitor parking Bruch, directly next to the fire station, Brucherstraße 5, 57641 Oberlahr
