Along the route is the Alvensleben tunnel, a mining gem and former drainage tunnel of the Louise mine, visitable by appointment.

Parking lot Bürdenbach-Bruch (Oberlahr/Bruchermühle)
Start and finish point is the parking lot Bürdenbach-Bruch (Oberlahr/Bruchermühle). From the hotel park “Der Westerwald-Treff” the route leads onto the former railway embankment, along the Wied river, past Oberlahr, towards Burglahr over the Webershahn, always uphill towards the former forest hotel “Heiderhof”, Obersteinebach and back to Bürdenbach-Bruch (Oberlahr/Bruchermühle).
This section is walkable with conditions in snow.
