Description

The access road to the trails ascends steadily and rewards with a great panoramic view from the 642.8 m high Höllkopf, the highest mountain in Hesse in the Westerwald.

Then the traditional “24-Stunne” trail, the “WWS” trail, the “Wennelstaa” trail, and “Rüwwer und Nüwwer” offer lots of riding fun.

The MTB BikePark Driedorf is a public sports facility supported by the Hessian Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and is available free of charge to all private users. The MTB BikePark Driedorf was applied for official approval under the leadership of the municipality of Driedorf and built through voluntary work.

Route C: WWS trail, 475 meters, 59 m elevation,

Route B: Wennelstaa trail, 539 meters, 71 m elevation

Route D: Rüwwer und Nüwwer trail, 585 meters, 68 m elevation

Route A: 24-Stunne trail, 618 meters, 67 m elevation

Exit 26 Herborn West onto B255 towards Rennerod/Bad Marienberg/Driedorf

After 10.6 km turn left onto K83 (partially closed for public passage)

Directions

The access road to the trails ascends steadily. From the parking lot simply follow the gravel road straight ahead and then keep to the right.

Safety instructions

 Single-trail specific bike rules. Please observe! 

  • Attention! Ride at your own risk, only at controlled speed and with half-visibility.
  • Show consideration for other bikers, hikers,
  • livestock and wildlife, and do not ride off the trail.
  • Helmet mandatory! Protectors recommended. Make sure your bike is completely free of defects.
  • Leave no traces! Shortcuts and blocking rear wheels damage the trail.
  • Clean ride! Please do not leave any trash or food residues here.
  • Emergency number 112

  • Be careful! When you ride the trail, only as fast as you can see.
  • Be mindful of other trail users, people on foot along the way, cows and deer in the forest.
  • Make sure your bike is properly aligned and wear a helmet on your head.
  • Stay on your trail and don’t damage it.
  • Do not throw away anything so that nature stays clean.
  • If you have fallen and injured yourself badly, you can call 112.

Equipment

Wearing a bike helmet is mandatory! We recommend a full-face helmet!

Additionally recommended equipment:

  • Back, elbow, and knee protectors
  • Gloves
  • Glasses or sunglasses
  • Downhill cycling shorts and cycling shoes

Tips

Just 5 minutes away is the Heisterberger Weiher with its bathing beach and Beach Bistro. The Aqua Fun Park, 40 m from the shore, offers unlimited bathing fun during the summer months and is definitely worth a visit.
