Description

The circular hiking route No. 5 starts in Hadamar at the swimming pool and leads through wide, green landscapes past the "Hoheholzkapelle", along the romantic "Lohrbachtal" and the picturesque "Pletschmühle". It continues to a small bridge at the edge of the forest. Here a bench invites you to rest and relax before heading to the beautiful district of Niederzeuzheim. A detour to the Niederzeuzheim district is worthwhile, as you can visit the parish church with its magnificent high altar and precious sculptures. Along the idyllic Elbbach, the circular route returns to Hadamar and fascinates with splendid cultural sights such as the Liebfrauenkirche, Hadamar Castle with its city museum and glass museum. Those interested in glass art can enjoy highlights of both baroque architecture and glass art in the former prince's residence. The town center invites you to linger in cafes or restaurants and lets you end the day trip comfortably.

Safety instructions

Wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate, functional clothing that protects you from cold and wet, or heat and sun.

Carry enough fluids with you. Refreshment options are not available everywhere.

Please wear suitable hiking boots that provide sufficient support even on slippery and steep or rocky and uneven paths.

If you believe certain sections of the path are impassable for you, you should avoid them. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural trails can become muddy and slippery.

In autumn, also be aware that fallen leaves can cover uneven spots, roots, stones, or holes in the path. You should expect such trail impairments when hiking.

Although the route is very well marked throughout, for safety reasons you should always carry a suitable hiking map.
