In the tour planner we inform you under the tab "Current info" about temporary route changes, closures and detours.
There is a large overview board opposite the charging points for electric vehicles, on which the three ore trails are described and shown on a map.
Erzweg 2 starts behind the overview board and first leads into the forest past the Pingen fields and the Pulverhäuschen. On the way into the Gierender Tal valley, the entrance to the Kohlseifenstollen tunnel is on the right. The path then runs along a former coal pile on the left. Up to this point, Erzweg 1 and Erzweg 2 run parallel; from the Gierender Tal, this path leads uphill to the left, along the Gierender Bach stream.
On the left below the Burschenhütte is a spring, known in dialect as "Hellebierchen" (Heilbrünnchen), past which the trail continues towards Gierend. The hiking trail leads through Gierend, then rejoins Erzweg 1 and continues back to Westerwaldpark Gierenderhöhe, the starting point of the hike. There are information boards at all interesting points along the ore trail.
