In the tour planner we inform you under the tab "Current info" about temporary route changes, closures and detours.
This hike leads south of the town through the Langenbach district, the village of Hahn, and over a short section of an old railway track between Großseifen and Bad Marienberg back again. The path is accompanied in places by the two streams Schwarze Nister and Große Nister, which converge in the Langenbach district.
The return route finishes the hike with the Park of the Senses in the center of the spa town.
- From Cologne: A3 exit Hennef/Sieg via B8 and B414 to Bad Marienberg
- From Frankfurt: A3 exit Limburg via B54 and B414 to Bad Marienberg
- From Dortmund: A45 exit Haiger/Burbach via B54 and B414 to Bad Marienberg
- From Gießen: A45 exit Herborn via B255 and B414 to Bad Marienberg
- From Koblenz: A48 and A3 exit Montabaur via B255 to Bad Marienberg
By train to the Nistertal or Westerburg stop. Continue by bus to Bad Marienberg, Neuerweg stop.

The description of the hiking trail M 3 guides us to the town center in the Langenbach district. After turning left, we soon turn right and follow the road to Hardt for about 300 m. Half left, we reach the Hardt Mill in the valley of the Große Nister. We return via Hahn back to Langenbach. Below the town, upwards along the Große Nister to the left at the end of the town, a section of road leads to Großseifen, and partly over the old railway track, then after almost two more kilometers, our circular hike ends in Bad Marienberg.
Especially in autumn, be aware that leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path.
Such path impairments are to be expected on every hike.
Wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate, functional clothing that protects you from cold and moisture or heat and sun.
A walk on the barefoot path is a must! If the weather is good, be sure to take off your shoes and socks and walk over the different fields of the barefoot path. An experience for the senses!
