At the entrance to MarienBad we cross Bismarckstraße and turn right; 20 m behind the barrier turn left along the Basalt Park until we reach the upper entrance of the Basalt Park. Here we keep slightly left, cross a paved path and go uphill towards Hedwig Tower. On a clear day, a detour and ascent are worthwhile. We walk above the hotel past the Steig-Rast to the left into the wildlife park.
Attention: Here route separation:
5 km hikers go right.
10 km hikers keep left.
About 30 m before Wilhelmshütte it turns sharply left until we reach the corner of a clearing (Attention: SK3). We turn right and cross an intersection. Now we see a factory building, turn right and pass a water treading basin. At Sonnenhof (senior center) go straight ahead towards the wildlife park. At the wild boar enclosure we turn left, pass the swan pond and then reach a paved path. We keep left, after 50 m turn right into Berliner Straße. After another 150 m turn right into Seniorenallee. Following the signs for Basaltpark/MarienBad we reach the country road L293. However, before L293 we turn right into the Basalt Park to the starting point MarienBad.
The hiking trail is insured against third-party liability claims. There is accident insurance for participants. The insurance coverage applies to accidents that occur between start time and finish on the marked routes, provided the participant is in possession of a valid start card with name and full address.
The hiking trail is accessible all year round. The trail is not gritted and not cleared of snow.
Wear sturdy footwear as well as weather-appropriate, practical clothing that protects you from cold and wet or heat and sun.
Wildlife park: A visit should not be missed. Here there are various animals, a petting zoo and falconry to discover.
