In the local community of Selbach (Sieg) in the Wisserland, the beautifully located Selbach stream educational trail begins. It runs along the upper course of the stream to the spring. Water is life: the animals found here and the partly rare plant species make the Selbach valley unique in the region. With a bit of luck, you can observe the "symbol animal" of the stream educational trail, the kingfisher. Numerous educational boards along the path provide you with interesting information. Start hiking and enjoy the Selbach - pure nature!
Drive to 57537 Selbach (Sieg) and park on Hauptstraße (town center) at the signposted hiking car park. From there, use the marked access path.
Use the train (Sieg route Cologne-Siegen) to Wissen (Sieg). From the local RegioBahnhof you can take the bus (line 269) towards Selbach (Sieg)/Gebhardshain. Get off at the Wendeschleife stop in Selbach (Sieg). There is the hiking car park and the access path begins there.
Park at the free hiking car park on Hauptstraße (town center) in 57537 Selbach (Sieg). Please do not park your car in the narrow Wiesenstraße (start).
You start at the hiking car park on Hauptstraße (town center) of Selbach (Sieg), or directly in Wiesenstraße. Then you either follow the yellow marking of the access path (from the hiking car park), or directly the white marking of the main path (from the end of Wiesenstraße). The stream educational trail follows the upper course of the stream through shady forest and along wet meadows to the spring (destination). Along the way, there is plenty of information about flora and fauna on educational boards.
It is worth taking a camera with you. There are numerous animals such as butterflies as photo subjects.
