Directions

The connecting path from Hachenburg station to the main path is about 300 meters long. From the Astert sports field, a connecting path about 3 km long leads to Hattert station.

The connecting paths are marked with a green "W" on a yellow background and the signposts show a yellow arrow tip.

Safety instructions

  • If you believe that certain sections of the path are not passable for you, you should avoid them. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can become muddy and slippery.
  • In autumn, be especially aware that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. You must expect such path impairments when you go hiking.
  • Although the path is very well marked throughout, you should always carry a suitable hiking map for safety reasons or download the free "Experience Rhineland-Palatinate" app .

Equipment

  • Wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate, functional clothing that protects against cold and wet or heat and sun.
  • Take enough fluids with you. Refreshment options are not available everywhere.
  • Please wear hiking boots suitable for the trail, which provide sufficient grip even on slippery and steep or rocky and uneven paths.

Tips

Park your car at the destination and first travel by train to the start of your route. Then you can calmly hike back without any time pressure.
