Description

Beautiful path with resting opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty of the WällerLand. There are benches and resting possibilities. Backpack provisions are recommended.

Approach

From Montabaur: drive through Westerburg, Hergenroth, Stahlhofen a.W., turn right to the WällerLand Tourist Information

From Siegen: through Rennerod, after Seck, after Winnen, then turn right to the WällerLand Tourist Information

From Limburg: exit Gemünden, after Winnen, then left and after the village turn right to the WällerLand Tourist Information

Public transport

By line 116, for example, from ICE station Montabaur to the bush stop Winner Ufer, Stahlhofen a.W. (https://fahrplan-bus-bahn.de/rheinland-pfalz/westerburg/bus_linie_bus_116#/)

with the Hessian State Railway (HBL) to Westerburg, from there continue by bus to Stahlhofen a.W. Winner Ufer, line 116

Parking

Large parking lot directly at the Tourist Information, Winner Ufer 9, 56459 Stahlhofen a.W.. Parking is free!

Directions

The start is at the WällerLand Tourist Information center at Wiesensee (TiWi). There is a large parking lot here. Then you go along the golf courses, where you can watch people trying to drive the small white ball forward. From the hilltop, you can see as far as Winnen - in good weather, even as far as the Taunus. At the height, there is a nice hiking rest area with a memorial hut.

It continues towards Pottum and Harschbacher Feld, then through Halbs and the path leads to Hergenrother Kopf, where several viewpoints are lined up. The Wäller Ruheweg then passes the Liebfrauenkirche, through Hergenroth, and the "Eigen" forest into Stahlhofen. Downhill, you then go over the dam and back to the starting point.

Due to repair work, Wiesensee currently has no water!

Please remember weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear!
