Description

The round starts at the church in the village center of Windhagen and leads to Stockhausen. From there, it returns in a loop to the starting point. The circular route is very varied and offers a beautiful natural experience. Forest and meadow paths invite you to slow down. Although there are a few altitude meters included, the path is relatively easy to master and also doable for the untrained. Due to the relatively high forest share, there are always shady spots to rest even on hot summer days.

Through the scattered villages of the Windhagen community, the circular route along quiet, small stream valleys offers many impressions of a varied landscape in and around Windhagen.

Approach

Coming by car from the BAB3 direction, turn left at the first street in Windhagen and follow the street to the town center. The best navigation address is "Hauptstraße 53 in 53578 Windhagen" and orient yourself by the church in the town center.

Parking

There are sufficient free parking spaces available at the Catholic church.

Safety instructions

  • Wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate, functional clothing that protects you from cold and wet or heat and sun.
  • Take enough fluids with you. Not everywhere are there opportunities to refresh yourself.
  • Please wear appropriate hiking shoes that provide sufficient support also on slippery and steep or rocky and uneven paths.
  • If you believe certain sections of the path are not passable for you, you should bypass them. Especially in adverse weather conditions, there can be muddy and slippery sections on natural paths.
  • Especially in autumn, note that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. You must expect path impairments of this kind when hiking.
  • Although the path is very well marked throughout, for safety reasons you should always have a suitable hiking map with you.
