RWW 17: Niederzeuzheim-Thalheim-Niederzeuzheim

Description

The route begins by leaving the town center via Bahnhofstraße, Untergasse, and Borngraben, and then follows one of the most beautiful paths through the charming Westerwald landscape. Surrounded by fascinating nature, expansive hillside locations, agricultural areas, and species-rich forest characterize the trail. They invite you to immerse yourself in the vastness and diversity of nature. After about half the distance, you follow a short stretch of the country road before immediately turning left to reach the small forest chapel. Along splendid deciduous forest, you always enjoy the view of an open natural landscape. The barbecue area in Thalheim invites you to enjoy a cozy picnic. After a short break, you continue on the path to Tahlheim. At the end of the village, you return via the Salzbach footbridge to the RWW 16 & 17, which leads back to Niederzeuzheim via a narrow, idyllic forest path.

The circular route runs along forests and field paths as well as an asphalted country road.

Wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate, practical clothing that protects you from cold and wet or heat and sun.

Bring enough fluids. There are not always places to stop for refreshments.

Please wear hiking boots suitable for the trail, which provide sufficient support even on slippery and steep or rocky and uneven paths.

If you believe that certain sections of the trail are not walkable for you, you should avoid them. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections.

Particularly in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves can cover unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. You should expect such trail impairments when going on a hike.

Although the trail is very well marked throughout, for safety reasons you should always carry a suitable hiking map.
