Hiking Trail
Route profile
Notice
In the tour planner we inform you under the tab "Current info" about temporary route changes, closures and detours.
The beginning section of the path is identical to RWW 13 up to the point where, coming out of the forest, you see the “Lochmühle,” a popular excursion and holiday destination. At a sharp angle the path leads left in the direction of Heuchelheim. The alternation between forest, meadow valleys and quiet, dreamy corners is typical of the landscape for this section of the trail, which passes through a beautiful landscape conservation area. From the main road that connects Heuchelheim and Thalheim, you turn right to get back into the Elbbach valley. Just behind the Heuchelheim mill, you cross the Elbbach bridge and after a few minutes you have the opportunity to rest at the shelter next to the small soccer field. The path continues up to the first houses in Heuchelheim, where the markings point right towards the cemetery. There you keep left and after a short climb over scenic heights parallel to the federal road you return to the parking lot.
Parking is available at the multipurpose hall in Oberzeuheim. The circular hiking trail also starts from there.
The path leads in steady ups and downs from Oberzeuzheim through the Elbbach valley to Heuchelheim and back from there.
Wear sturdy footwear as well as weather-appropriate, practical clothing that protects you from cold and wet or heat and sun.
Take enough fluids with you. There are not always places to stop for food or drink.
Please wear appropriate hiking boots that provide sufficient support even on slippery and steep or rocky and uneven paths.
If you think certain sections of the path are not walkable for you, you should avoid them. Especially under adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery stretches.
Especially in autumn, take care that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones or holes in the path. You should expect such path impairments when hiking.
Although the path is very well marked throughout, you should always carry a suitable hiking map for safety reasons.
There is a good place to rest at the rest area in Heuchelheim – a small soccer field is available for the children.
