Mehrzweckhalle Oberzeuzheim
Through the upper village center (Grabenstraße, Waldstraße) the path begins through a graceful mixed forest and leads to the place of devotion "Seven Sorrows" at the foot of the Heidenhäuschen. Further on, the path leads to a large forest crossroads. Follow the signs for Oberweyer and RWW 12 downwards towards Steinbach. The forest path ends at the entrance to Steinbach, where there is a large rest area with shelter at the edge of the forest offering a magnificent view of nature. Here, the path leaves the forest area and continues left into the Steinbach district. At Friedhofstraße, the route continues right onto a field path. Lovers of traditional markets should not miss the traditional flea and cattle market, held since 1770, which takes place every year on the 2nd Tuesday in October. After crossing the main road, the path continues to Oberweyer. The view over the gently rolling landscape is impressive, with its charm in the smooth transitions from pastureland to wooded field edges. On arrival in Oberweyer, the path turns right into Oberzeuzheimerstraße. Past a wayside shrine at the village exit, the path initially runs along the main road, until after about 50 meters a field path on the left takes over the route again. After crossing the Holzbach and the main road, past four farmsteads, the path ends through Mittel- and Grabenstraße at the starting point in Oberzeuzheim.
No direct train connection to Oberzeuzheim available. Train connection possible up to Niederzeuheim.
Car park at Mehrzweckhalle Oberzeuzheim. The circular hiking trail no. 12 also starts here.
Wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate, practical clothing that protects you from cold and wet or heat and sun.
Take enough fluids with you. There are not always places to rest and eat along the way.
Please wear appropriate hiking boots that provide you with sufficient support, even on slippery and steep or rocky and uneven paths.
If you believe that certain sections of the path are not passable for you, you should avoid them. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural trails may have muddy and slippery passages.
Particularly in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. You should expect such path impairments when hiking.
Although the path is very well marked throughout, you should
Visit the Heidenhäuschen Nature Park and enjoy the tranquility at the pilgrimage site "Seven Sorrows".
