The southern section of about 23 km in Rhineland-Palatinate follows the valley of the Asdorf stream as a railway trail cycle path from Kirchen an der Sieg to Freudenberg, whose historic town centre with its half-timbered houses is regionally known as the "Alter Flecken". From here it turns northwest into the "Wildenburger Land" through a railway tunnel to the height of the watershed between the Bigge and the Sieg and shortly after the settlement "Bahnhof Wildenburg" leaves Rhineland-Palatinate. Along the Bigge you then reach the Wendener Hütte – one of the oldest still excellently preserved charcoal plants in the German-speaking area. The next stage destination is the district town of Olpe with the largest and most beautiful reservoir in Westphalia: the Biggesee. The architectural landmark of the town is the Hexenturm, which was used as a prison until the 19th century. On the ride along the Biggesee you reach Attendorn. Here the town centre awaits with a unique ensemble of Gothic architecture: right next to the magnificent parish church, which is also called the Sauerland Cathedral, stands the historic town hall, which now houses the Sauerland Museum. Another attraction on site is the large dripstone cave. The last part stage runs along the Bigge through Eslohe to the destination Meschede.
