Description

We start on wide forest roads at the hiking car park in Hausen (district Hähnen). On both sides of the path, we see various reforestation projects and enjoy the wide views. At the halfway point, we can choose the shorter loop back to the car park via the forest road or follow the meadow path towards the valley. Here we enjoy fantastic views of the monastery landscape of Wiedtal and the heights of the Rengsdorf region. On the horizon, we spot the Georg pit near Willroth. Our path runs parallel to the district road for a few meters, which we cross twice (caution). A detour to the viewing plateau at Malbergsee with a reclining swing offers a great view of the steep basalt walls. On the basalt educational trail, we can learn a lot about basalt mining from the display panels. Our path leads us up to the Malberg hut, where we can enjoy regional dishes and wonderful views on the sunny terrace before returning to the car park.

We look forward to your ratings and comments about this hiking trail on Outdooractive. Thank you very much!
