Description
The Kannenbäckerland in the southwestern Westerwald became a center of ceramic production already in pre-Christian times due to its rich clay deposits. Its name also refers to the jugs or "Kannen", mostly gray-blue, salt-glazed ware made here. The handcrafted tradition, which continues to this day, has become a trademark of the region.
Approach
A3 towards Cologne, exit Dierdorf.
A3 towards Frankfurt, exit Dierdorf.

- From Isenburg via Anhausen, Hardert, Dürrholz and Döttesfeld to Niederwambach: 52 km
- From Niederwambach via Hachenburg, Elkenroth, Weitefeld and Nisterberg to Bad Marienberg: 52 km
- From Bad Marienberg via Höhn, Alpenrod, Westerburg and Salz to Wallmerod: 44 km
- From Wallmerod via Nentershausen, Untershausen, Niederelbert and Höhr-Grenzhausen back to Isenburg: 63 km

A small backpack with provisions for a little hunger and thirst in between never hurts.
Tips
A cozy garden restaurant right on the Saynbach awaits motorcycle-riding guests here from Tuesday to Sunday.
At the Schnitzelranch you can safely show up very hungry, the portions of burgers and schnitzels are huge and tasty. Around the locale, great collector bikes are displayed, so motorcycle fans also get something for the eye.
Motorcycle Museum in Steinebach/Sieg
Since 1993, the motorcycle museum has presented machines from different decades, especially from the BMW brand. But the topic of mobility and the history of the Westerwald region are also vividly illustrated.
