Detailed description

The approximately 8 km long nature trail "Eisvogelweg" leads along the Krummbach and Lasterbach through the typical Westerwald mid-mountain landscape.

The romantic valley landscape between Westernohe and Hüblingen has been referred to as the "Tuscany of the Westerwald" by the famous Frankfurt cabaret artist Matthias Beltz.

The path runs along natural paths, sometimes beside the brook, sometimes through meadows with typical plant species. Clear water and lush meadows attract interesting inhabitants that can be observed here in peace. Rest benches at various points along the route invite visitors to take a break.

The walking time is about 2 hours. Starting from the village square in Westernohe, the route goes through Hüblingen, Elsoff, and Neunkirchen to the Birkenmühle near Hausen. In addition to the two endpoints, there are entry points in Hüblingen, at Hof Krempel, and in Neunkirchen. Around 20 information boards along the way provide information about the respective communities and the habitat of many animals.

The Eisvogel logo shows hikers the right way.
