The catholic "Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche" is located in the district of Herkersdorf in the city of Kirchen. The church was built by the "Kath. Kirchbauverein Herkersdorf-Offhausen e.V.". The laying of the foundation stone took place on 12.05.1957. During the construction of the tower, a crack developed at a height of 16 metres, so that it had to be removed again. The financing was largely secured by the income from the open-air plays at the Druidenstein. On 18.09.1960 the church was finally consecrated. In 1961 and 1962 further purchases and the interior fittings were completed.
