Notice
In the tour planner we inform you under the tab "Current info" about temporary route changes, closures and detours.
From the parking lot in Anhausen, the hike takes us over the Iserbach Loop counterclockwise towards the east out of the town. We hike through the Steinebachtal, past the Hausenborn church ruins to Isenburg. We leave the castle and the church to the right and climb the Ebenfeld before descending again into the Iserbachtal and to the Thalhauser Mill. Here, a shortcut to Anhausen (yellow-marked) is offered to hikers on the Iserbach Loop. We hike back to the starting point via this shortcut.

Parking lot "Auf dem Löh" in 56584 Anhausen (corner Neuwieder Straße / Auf dem Löh)
Other parking options to start the hike are available in Isenburg (Hauptstraße 36) and at the Thalhauser Mill.
Starting point of the "Wäller Tour Iserbach Loop - Hiking in the Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park" and thus also of the South Loop is Anhausen, parking lot Auf dem Löh. From there, the route goes counterclockwise past Meinborn - here we enjoy a great panoramic view - into the Steinebachtal. We hike on an enchanted path along the babbling brook and turn right at the shelter "Am Steinbruch" towards the Hausenborn church ruin. Now we follow the path down into the Saynbachtal to Isenburg. Afterwards, it goes quite steeply uphill again. A detour to the Isenburg castle ruins and also a visit to the parish church "St. Katharina" are worthwhile.
Via the "Water Path" with two wonderful viewpoints overlooking Isenburg, we reach the Iserbachtal and cross the K 113 and the Iserbach on the way to the Thalhauser Mill.
Back to Anhausen, the route takes the yellow-marked shortcut of the Iserbach Loop. First along the Burbach, it soon goes uphill to a forest clearing with a bench inviting you to rest and relax. Continuing through the Reilbachtal, we pass Meinborn - please turn around once more here, the view is worth it - to Anhausen and the starting point of our hike.
Gastronomy
There are, of course, places to eat along the route as well. Among others, in Anhausen the Gasthof Tross, in Isenburg the Fischerhütte Meißel and the Hotel-Restaurant Haus Maria (both located a bit off the Iserbach Loop), and 3 km before the end of the hike is the Thalhauser Mill.
Ankle-high hiking boots are recommended, and especially when wet, hiking poles are highly recommended.
Visit the northern section of the Iserbach Loop at your next opportunity. The Iserbach Loop - North Loop is about 15 km long, runs through beautiful stream valleys like the South Loop and impresses with fantastic views. In particular, the lookout platform at Rüscheid offers an almost panoramic view in good weather, stretching east to the Großer Feldberg in the Taunus (70 km). Other highlights are the idyllic rest areas at Veltens Weiher and near Rüscheid.
