From Flammersfeld it goes downhill into the Wied valley and along the Wied cycle path to Burglahr to Heinrichshof with its own organic farm cheese dairy. A first stop that supplies me with handmade Westerwald cheese (farm shop open Tuesdays and Saturdays) and gives me strength for the next climb to Kaffroth. After a few meters on the L 272, the path leads me to Biohof Seegers. The landscape feels like the Allgäu and the gently rolling meadows and pastureland impress me. But the amazement doesn't stop: a 1000-year-old oak, a woolly pig in the front yard, and the 24-hour open farm shop await me at the village exit. Supplies for home are purchased, and then it goes on through the Ahlbach valley towards Kescheid. At the dairy farm Fey, I learn a lot about milk, milking robots, and animal husbandry. Current plan: production of ice cream from own milk. So I'll definitely come by again here. Forest, meadows, and fields accompany me back to Flammersfeld.
