Brief description

Private collection of historical objects of daily use in the former blacksmith's shop worth seeing.

Detailed description

The Heimatstube Sechshelden is a former village blacksmith's shop that mainly exhibits rural utensils from the 19th/20th centuries. All exhibits come from the region around Dill and Westerwald. Among other things, a completely furnished, still functioning weaving room with a Westerwald loom from 1755 can be examined there.

In the garden of the museum there is an earthen fridge which invites hikers and cyclists who pass the museum via the Hessian cycle path R8 which runs directly past the museum or the many hiking trails which also cross here (Rothaarsteig, Westerwaldwanderweg, Oranier-Route etc.) to take a refreshing break at any time.
