A great nature area.
The Grenzbach Valley can be reached at any time by bike or on foot. Hiking trails lead partly through the middle of the pastures. Self-closing gates prevent the grazing animals from leaving their meadows.
The border stream, originally called "Waldbach", forms the border between the districts of Altenkirchen and Neuwied. Following renaturalisation a few years ago, a number of animal species that have made their home here were introduced to protect the meadows from reforestation. Valuable ecological structures and wet areas have now formed and offer a valuable refuge for fauna and flora. These can be marvelled at during a walk thereHiking, cycling, Nordic walking and climbing are all possible here. The "Westerwald-Steig" quality hiking trail also runs along here and even leads hikers directly through the pastures here and there. There is a bit of an "Alpine pasture feeling", but you don't need to be afraid of the rather shy animals here.
