The Wied Valley offers a great cycling route with the Wied Cycle Path. It runs through the beautiful river valley from east to west across the Westerwald and connects diverse Westerwald landscapes over 99 km.
From the northern Westerwald via the Westerwald lake district and Ehrenstein Monastery, it leads into the Wied Valley. It is suitable for everyone here, whether sporty cyclists, E-bikers or families, since the cycle path between Neustadt / Wied and Neuwied is a well-signposted trail on flat terrain. The final stage’s destination is the dike town of Neuwied, where the Wied flows into the Rhine.
Here we have an ideal connection to the Rhine Cycle Path heading north to Linz and Bonn or south towards Koblenz and the Loreley. Of course, we can also start the other way around from the Moselle or Eifel towards the Westerwald.
Please wear a helmet when cycling for your own safety.
When cycling: helmet, weather-appropriate clothing, water bottle
In the Wied Valley there are many worthwhile excursion destinations, with which a cycling break can be perfectly combined (just click on "excursion destinations").
