In the tour planner we inform you under the tab "Current info" about temporary route changes, closures and detours.
The starting point is the parish church Buchholz, an impressive historic landmark with special charm that reflects the history of the village. The path continues to the old bakehouse "Backes", where the village used to gather to bake bread together – a place full of memories of past times that keeps the importance of community and tradition alive.
A special highlight is the legendary Drudenborn, a spring told of in old legends that exudes a mystical atmosphere. Along the path, a wayside shrine invites you to pause, a silent testimony of the regional faith history and a place for contemplation. The Mückensee offers a perfect opportunity for a break – here you can relax on a bench and fully enjoy the idyllic nature. Finally, the path leads to the Buchholz mill, also known as "Alda's Mill", a place where history comes alive. It is worth taking a short rest here to soak in the atmosphere. A hike that perfectly combines nature, history, and culture.

The route begins in Buchholz at "Katrin Blumen & more" and leads via the Heimathaus and the street "In den Hanfen" towards Bonner Straße. You walk through Wallroth and continue via Brunnenweg to Oberscheid. From there, the path takes you through fields and forests via Asbach-Walgenbach back towards Buchholz. Along the way, you pass streets including "Zum Talblick", "Oberscheider Weg", and "Pfalzstraße". The route ends again at the starting point in Buchholz.
If you think certain sections of the path are not passable for you, you should avoid them. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections.
Particularly in autumn, note that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. You should expect such path impairments when undertaking a hike.
