First through the spa park and past the roundabout before leaving the built-up area and reaching the forest. Then it goes uphill to the juniper heath and further towards the TV tower. There are two road crossings, the L294 and later shortly before the district of Pfuhl the K60. Through the village of Nisterau you reach the Hölzerstein hill. Then the path leads back into the village and then through the Bacher Lay nature reserve. Back in Bad Marienberg, it goes past the Marien source and the Protestant church back to the starting point.
Especially in autumn, you should be aware that the fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path.
Disruptions of this kind can be expected on any hike.
Sturdy footwear is recommended as well as weather-appropriate, practical clothing that protects against cold and moisture or heat and sun.
Also take enough fluids with you; there are no opportunities to stop for refreshments along the way.
Picnic at the juniper heath, a heath-like habitat with a variety of insects.
