Detailed description

The observation tower, inaugurated in July 2006, offers a magnificent view over the 140-hectare grounds of the Stöffel-Park and a lovely piece of the Westerwald.

The 16-meter-high tower is accessible via the village of Stockum-Püschen and is always freely accessible.

A sign ("Stöffel Observation Tower") in the center of Stockum-Püschen directs you uphill to the parking lot by the playground. There is plenty of space to romp and rest. The 10-kilometer permanent hiking trail "Around the Stöffel-Park" also passes by here.

After a few steps, visitors enter the woods (turn left) to reach the observation tower, which is situated at the edge of the large basalt quarry.

For this project, 17 tons of steel and around EUR 100,000 were spent at the time.

Hiking Tip

You can hike to the observation tower: The IVV round path around Stöffel is about 10 kilometers long. The starting point is the Stöffel-Park (www.stoeffelpark.de).
