Event
In addition to numerous rest stations in the towns and municipalities, some attractions will be open especially for this day along the approximately 110 km long route. The Sieg Valley will be completely car-free from Siegburg to Siegen from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The Deutsche Bahn and the transport associations will operate two special trains on the Sieg route alongside the regular trains. The exact schedules can be viewed on bahn.de .The flyer provides information about the exact distances between the stages, the gradient conditions, local activities, breakdown services, and Red Cross posts along the route. Furthermore, the flyer contains information that will be particularly important for inline skaters. The crossing of the Sieg at Etzbach will only be possible via a temporary bridge installed by the THW. The approximately two-kilometer approach is via gravel paths which are well-suited for bicycles but can only be used on foot by inline skaters. The additional S-Bahn traffic between Wissen, Etzbach, and Au offers a suitable "bridge" for inline skaters.
Every year on the first Sunday in July, it’s that time again: The Sieg Valley is closed to all car traffic for over 100 kilometers and reserved for cyclists, inline skaters, joggers, and pedestrians. They can then fully enjoy biking, skating, hiking, or running between 9 AM and 6 PM. Numerous street and sports festivals, as well as cyclist meetings along the route and in the towns or communities, offer a host of activities, special opportunities to visit sights that are usually closed, as well as many chances to recharge with food and drinks. You can find the offers and activities along the route at: www.naturregion-sieg.de
