Panoramaausblick Alexanderhöhe in Kirchen (Sieg)

Detailed description

The most beautiful panoramic view of the town of Kirchen (Sieg) in Druiden.Hexen.SiegerLand is offered from the viewing plateau of Alexanderhöhe at 260 metres above sea level.

At the approximate location where at the beginning of the 20th century on the side of the Molzberg above the Siegtal a summer and forest restaurant of the then owner Gustav Weber together with an observation tower welcomed guests and hikers daily with food and drinks, an attractive hiking bench made by the wood and chainsaw artist Robin Rosenthal from Niederfischbach was installed in October 2021. It weighs 250 kg and offers 2 metres of seating space. On both sides, owls as guardians of the forest decorate the outdoor seat. Today, however, there is no sign of the former restaurant on the heights.

Since 2022, the 15-km-long Burgenwanderweg (Castle Hiking Trail) has led past the lookout point, a circular route starting from the railway station in Kirchen via Wehbach in the Asdorftal valley towards Freusburg and back through the Siegtal valley.

The leisure area of the Molzberg is only a short distance from the Alexanderhöhe, with the Molzberg swimming pool including sauna, the Flippolino children's play paradise, tennis courts and a stadium.
