Beside artistic individual pieces I produce small series of utility ceramics, bowls, vases, mugs, cups. By the salt fire the matte surface of my works receives light approaches of salt, which change the colors and modulate them fully brightly after dark. Brush strokes become visible. The influence of salt can only be predicted to a certain degree. It is part of my artistic concept that chance plays a certain role. My works are represented in many private collections and museums around the world and have won many awards, including the Westerwald Prize for salt-glazed stoneware and porcelain.

Since 1993 I have had my own studio and since then I have been intensively engaged in the formal language of ceramic vessels and salt firing, which is a centuries-old tradition here in the Westerwald. 1994 I became a member of the ceramic group Grenzhausen in the Brunnenstrasse.
