The tower houses a small museum with murals in the staircase and exhibits on the upper floor.

After the local community of Hillscheid, the Westerwaldverein, Zweigverein Hillscheid and many small and large donors made the construction of this stone tower possible, the Limesturm was reconstructed in 1994 according to the latest Limes research.
