Directions

The trail starts at the Seligenstatt monastery ruins and leads past the forester's lodge to the Secker Weiher pond. Following the VR13 sign, the trail turns left to the Dapprich estate. Past the farm café, the trail climbs and turns right across open land to Seck. Through Seck and past the church, the trail returns to the parking lot.

Safety instructions

If you believe certain sections of the trail are impassable, you should avoid them. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural trails can become muddy and slippery. Especially in autumn, be careful because fallen leaves on the ground can obscure bumps, roots, stones, or holes in the trail. These types of disruptions to the trail can occur when hiking. Although the trail is very well marked throughout, for safety reasons, you should always carry a suitable hiking map or download the free "Experience Rhineland-Palatinate" app.

Equipment

Wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate, practical clothing that protects you from cold and wet weather, as well as heat and sun. Bring plenty of fluids. Rest stops are not available everywhere. Please wear hiking boots suitable for the trail, which offer sufficient grip even on slippery and steep, or rocky and uneven, trails.

Tips

At the information booth near the Seligenstatt monastery ruins, you can pause and learn more about the glorious times of the former monastery.
