The Giebelwald extends from Siegen-Oberschelden in the northeast on the right side of the river Sieg above the local community of Mudersbach to Kirchen-Freusburg in the southwest, borders further in a northwesterly direction on the Asdorftal valley (Niederfischbach and Freudenberg-Niederndorf) and lies in the middle of the Druiden.Hexen.SiegerLand for tourism. The large forest area and the numerous panoramic trails are extremely popular with hikers, Nordic walkers and nature lovers. Among others, the 19.5 km long stage 14 of the Natursteig Sieg runs over the mountain ranges between Kirchen (Sieg) and Mudersbach.
In the middle of the Druiden.Hexen.SiegerLand of the nature region Sieg between the state border to North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Kirchen (Rhineland-Palatinate) lies the Giebelwald on the right side of the Sieg. From the southwest with the castle village Freusburg (start and finish point of the Druidensteig) the forest area reaches Siegen-Oberschelden (NRW) in the northeast. On the 19.5 km long stage 14 of the Natursteig Sieg I enjoy the panoramic views into the Siegtal and get from Kirchen over the heights of the Giebelwald even deeper into the Siegerland to Mudersbach. The northwestern part of the Giebelwald lies at the Asdorftal with Niederfischbach and Freudenberg-Niederndorf.
