Detailed description

Nice of you to visit us!

For more than 50 years, the city of Herborn has been running the Herborn Game Reserve on almost 23 hectares in the city forest near the spectacular lookout tower at Dillblick. Around 70 animals await you in extensive enclosures. Among them are goats, donkeys, endangered Skudden (sheep) and mouflon as well as fallow deer, red deer, llamas and many more. In addition, families with children will find a wide variety of playground equipment along the varied hiking trails for climbing, balancing or simply running around. And for parents, there are plenty of benches and resting places as well as numerous secluded spots for a nice picnic. As if that wasn't enough, all this is open to you every day and admission is free.

Come and visit us, we look forward to seeing you!

Experience and learn about nature

On numerous information boards along the enclosures or the various nature trails you can learn all kinds of information about our inhabitants, their habitat and our flora and fauna. Or simply go on a discovery tour yourself by taking a little time to sit on one of the many benches and let nature take its effect on you. Discover dragonflies or butterflies, listen to the chirping of the birds or simply observe our animals. There is something for everyone at the Herborn Game Reserve.

The support association

In November 2017, the Friends of the Herborn Game Reserve were founded. Since then, it has been working closely with the town of Herborn on the further development and maintenance of the Herborn Game Reserve. We are bubbling over with ideas and are very happy about any support and many more members. Just get in touch with us.
