The entire region - from the Eastern Eifel volcanism beyond the romance of the Middle Rhine to all the attractive destinations in the Westerwald - invites you on journeys of discovery. The important and pleasant things in life are close at hand despite the remoteness of the village of Goldscheid: Groceries at "Nah und Gut" in approx. 1,200 m, the restaurant "Paganetti", which is popular across the region, in approx. 800 m (days off: Monday and Tuesday), Hotel and Restaurant Fernblick in Hümmerich (5 km) as well as the business and gastronomy world in Waldbreitbach in approx. 5.0 km in the Wiedtal, a children's playground on the outskirts of Hochscheid (500 m), swimming and indoor pool in Hausen (5 km), ski and hiking hut on the Marlbergkopf (7 km) and much more. Once you have got to know the surrounding area, you may want to explore the region with day trips. Goldscheid is a very convenient starting point for this, because within an hour you can be in Cologne, Bonn, Koblenz, on the Moselle or in the upper Westerwald. We would like to point out to our guests that our swimming pond is over 2 metres deep; use it at your own risk. It is wonderful to be able to dive into the cool water after leaving the hot sauna. There are foam floatation aids in the storage room next to the kitchen to make it safer to be in the deep water. The use of the fire sauna, which is located in the garden, is free of charge, although we have set up a piggy bank as a voluntary "wood donation box", as the prices of wood and wood products such as wood briquettes, as used in the sauna, have increased enormously. Since not all guests use the sauna, it would not be right to include a flat-rate contribution for fuel in the accommodation flat rate.
