Erntedankfest Friesenhagen

Description

From September 21 to 23, the traditional Harvest Festival will be celebrated again in Friesenhagen. The highlight is the grand parade, which will start on Sunday, September 22 at 2:30 PM. Once again this year, visitors can look forward to impressive themed floats, creative foot and riding groups, and several music bands.

The Harvest Festival traditionally begins with a festive church service on Saturday at 6:30 PM at St. Sebastianus Church in Friesenhagen. Following this, the party starts in the large festival tent. The band Elevation will ensure a great atmosphere late into the night.

On Sunday, the traditional parade will commence at 2:30 PM. In addition to the splendidly decorated harvest crown, many wonderful themed floats and foot groups can be admired this Sunday. The skillfully crafted floats and the wonderfully costumed foot and riding groups have previously ensured that the parade is known far and wide and attracts thousands of visitors to Friesenhagen year after year. Whether it’s a sawmill, charcoal burner, potato field, blacksmith, herb garden, or bakery, there is practically nothing that the creative participants haven’t already built onto a float and presented in the streets of Friesenhagen. As a spectator, you are very close and are often treated to homemade delicacies by the parade participants. The parade starts at Blumenberg and then moves through Strahlenbach, Wintert, and Hauptstraße to the festival grounds.

There, visitors can expect a concert in the large festival tent (free admission) as well as bumper cars, shooting gallery, children's carousel, special snack and market stalls, and much more. Since the main road through the village will be broadly closed off from 1:00 PM, festival visitors are requested to arrive in the village in good time. The fire brigade will direct visitors to the designated parking spaces.

Monday begins at 11:30 AM with the traditional breakfast event organized by the music club "Concordia" Friesenhagen. Delicious home-cooked meals will be served in the festival tent at noon. Younger guests can enjoy face painting and a separate entertainment program.
