About 15 minutes' walk from the train station, the town of Altenkirchen offers a free disc golf course in the well-landscaped Parc de Tarbes, with a total of 9 different courses spread throughout the park.
The game principle for the DiscGolf course is simple and suitable for the whole family: There are 9 yellow baskets with associated throwing lanes. The players line up at the marked throwing area and try to hit the baskets with their Frisbees in such a way that the discs are caught in the nets of the baskets. Similar to golf, the winner is the player who has used the fewest total throws on all the courses.
All that needs to be brought along to play are the Frisbee discs. However, these can be bought without any problems or detours at the municipal sporting goods shop.
