Höhr-Grenzhausen

Burg Grenzau

Detailed description

Because of its uniqueness, it is a jewel in the wreath of German castles. Up there, hikers and walkers can enjoy the beautiful view of the wooded valley of the rushing Brex and look down from the tower, fascinated and steep, to the historic castle village of Grenzau with its old half-timbered houses and picturesquely situated village church. From the tower platform you can see the mountains of the Eifel volcano from afar.

Brief description

On a rocky ridge above the Brexbach valley, Burg Grenzau rises into the Westerwald sky. The castle ruin is the only castle in Germany to have a triangular keep.
