It's almost time again! The city of Oranienstadt invites you to the event "Bikes’n’BBQ" on May 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. In addition to a large motorcycle and bicycle exhibition, the sixth Hessian State Barbecue Championship will take place in the area of the Hofgarten. Furthermore, visitors can look forward to a broad supporting program. A biker service will open the event, along with a grilling exhibition, information and action booths, fun activities for children, and culinary delights inviting everyone to stroll and linger in Oranienstadt on this Sunday. This year, city center businesses will also open their doors at 12:00 PM with attractive special offers for the Sunday sales event, accompanied by a musical performance by the solo entertainer "Mir Zwo" and a mobile bicycle museum in Marktstraße.

The title of State Barbecue Champion is to be defended
Grilling teams from all over Germany will be competing again this year in the sixth Hessian State Barbecue Championship, hoping to take home the coveted title! The team with the highest overall score will receive the title: "Hessian Grill and BBQ Champion 2025." The Hessian State Barbecue Championship 2025 in Dillenburg is officially licensed by the German Barbecue Association e.V. (GBA). Thus, the competition rules of the GBA apply, which can be viewed at www.bbq-dillenburg.de. The enjoyment of all participants should take center stage at the State Barbecue Championship. The city of Oranienstadt Dillenburg expects several professionals along with a multitude of ambitious amateur grill enthusiasts and looks forward to all who enjoy grilling and know how to impress with creative ideas. The competition will start at 11:00 AM in the Dillenburg Hofgarten. The grilling teams will bring their own grills, necessary equipment, and ingredients to prepare the main ingredients as well as side dishes on-site. In total, each team will prepare four courses, which will be evaluated by a trained jury on-site. This will also benefit the audience, as tasting samples for the public are most welcome. Additionally, there will be a so-called fun evaluation. This extra assessment will be conducted by a jury from the audience, who will also receive a seat at the wildcard table of the respective teams. The wildcard places will be raffled off via social media (Facebook & Instagram of Oranienstadt Dillenburg) and then awarded. Along with the dishes, the performance of the respective teams and the decoration of the booths will also be judged. The winning team that emerges from the fun evaluation will receive a special prize.

Market activities around grilling, leisure, and enjoyment
Anyone who has been tempted by the creations of the grilling teams and wants to try their hand can surely find the right offer at the grilling exhibition in the Hofgarten. In addition to grills and grilling accessories, visitors will be offered a selection of handcrafted accessories, various barbecue sauces, and spices.

Moreover, from April 30 to May 4, 2025, the Food Truck Mile organized by Culinario Events GmbH will take place in the area of the Hofgarten for the second consecutive time.
Culinary delights will be available on Wednesday (April 30) from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, on Thursday (May 1) from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Friday (May 2) from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, on Saturday (May 3) from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and on Sunday during "Bikes’n’BBQ" from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM for numerous guests. The diverse street food offerings include Thai dishes, various types of fries, pastrami burgers, pulled pork, neck steaks, grilled sausages, and much more. For the sweet tooth among the guests, there is also a versatile offering including lollipop waffles, crepes, soft ice cream, churros, and fried apple rings. Drinks such as soft drinks, beer, and cocktails will also be available for visitors on-site. Musically, the Food Truck Mile will be accompanied by Soul Mash (performing on April 30 at 6:00 PM) and on May 1 at 4:00 PM by Ladykiller – Dillenburg's most famous Marius Müller-Westernhagen cover band. The DANCE CATS will continue the music on Friday, May 2, at 6:00 PM, followed by Enjoy the Band on May 3 at 5:00 PM.

Biker service to kick off the event
Organized by the C.M.A. Christian Motorcyclists Association e.V., a biker service will start at 11:00 AM in an open-air format to kick off "Bikes’n’BBQ." While the grilling teams begin preparing their menus for the championship, interested participants – whether on two wheels or not – will gather in the event area at the Hofgarten. Everyone is warmly invited! The service will be musically accompanied by the "Jordan Wells Band" from Siegen.

C.M.A. Germany is a group of Christians from various congregations. Members are united by their love for Jesus Christ and motorcycling.

Hot machines to admire in the big bike exhibition at the Hofgarten
In Hofgartenstraße, near the grilling competition, local vendors will display exquisite motorcycles and scooters. The city of Oranienstadt Dillenburg looks forward to numerous visitors, who can also arrive on their own bikes. Appropriate parking spaces for two-wheelers are provided on the event grounds in Hofgartenstraße. Access for bikers is via Wilhelmstraße. Additionally, a "biker meeting" will be set up on-site. Bikers, whether motorcyclists or cyclists, can secure a shady spot directly at the event. The bike exhibition will, of course, be complemented by bicycles and e-bikes. Test rides will be available on-site, by appointment.

Also returning is the free bicycle coding action from the Regional Traffic Service of the Lahn-Dill District, in cooperation with the Traffic Watch Dillenburg e.V. Furthermore, visitors to the city center will find an offering for children and families on Wilhelmsplatz. A large bouncy castle landscape, children's games, giant games, and other activities will ensure a high quality of stay, thus forming a transition to the Dillenburg city center. At 12:00 PM, the merchants and restaurateurs will open their doors there and look forward to numerous visitors. With special offers and a music stage, as well as a mobile bicycle museum providing various opportunities for test rides in Marktstraße and additional activities, the first Sunday sales event of the year will be inaugurated.
