The Wanderbühne Westerwald is a guest at the Bürghaus in Driedorf and presents the new theatre play 'Der 75ste Geburtstag' (The 75th Birthday) by Helmut Schmidt published by "mein Theaterverlag"
In a few weeks, Alma Hansen (who is already known to our loyal audience from the play "Barbed Wire around the Four-Poster Bed") will celebrate her 75th birthday. Her greatest wish is to celebrate it with the whole family, but unfortunately she has had no contact with her sons and their greedy wives for a few years. She is far too proud to take the first step towards reconciliation and then Tatjana, her roommate, is moving out soon because she is getting married.
he whole thing is hard on Alma and she withdraws more and more. But suddenly one day her son Heinrich appears on her doorstep with serious wounds, probably from an accident at work, and only a short time later her second son Fridolin appears at her house. This seems very suspicious to Alma, but because blood is thicker than water, she takes her boys back into her home. When Jens, Tatjana's future husband, moves in with Alma after a row with her, it all soon becomes too much for the sprightly pensioner. Together with Tatjana, she concocts a plan and lures her daughters-in-law into her house to present them with their task in order to prove that they might have a good heart after all. Within three weeks, they are to earn €1500 each through their own efforts. They do - but what methods will they use to get the money? Will Alma fall for the two women's tricks or does she not want to see the truth in the end?
This comedy in three acts will definitely not be boring and our audience can look forward to a sequel to our last theatre play. But even those who didn't have the opportunity to see the play "Stacheldraht ums Himmelbett" will get their money's worth.
