Insights into the history of the turn of the century

Brief description

Insights into the history of the turn of the century

A visit to the museum barn will take you on a journey back to the time of our great-grandparents. There is much to discover here about everyday life in the past and many of the tools were certainly also used in F.W. Raiffeisen's household.
The exhibition extends over two floors and offers a wide range of insights into old tools for tilling the fields, workshop equipment, old household appliances and tools for a wide variety of trades, as well as interesting individual pieces from a manager's room from the turn of the century and other pieces of furniture from the past.
A special feature of the local history museum in Helmenzen are the numerous films on everyday culture. For some time now, QR codes have been attached to many of the exhibits, which can be used to call up short videos showing how the old tools were used.
The museum barn has been run by the Arbeitskreis für Heimatgeschichte und Brauchtumspflege e. V. for more than 25 years and is open every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month and on all public holidays from 2 - 5 pm from the beginning of May to the end of September.
Admission is free, but the association is happy to receive a donation.
