The annual highlight on the Martin market is the visit of St. Martin on horseback. In the afternoon he rides in knowledge and presents the children with fresh pretzels. At 18.00 o'clock the children meet then with St. Martin at the market place. From there, the large Martin procession, accompanied by the fire brigade chapel, solemnly moves to the Schützenplatz, where a large Martin fire is lit.
This year we expect over 30 exhibitors and dealers on the Martin market. Another highlight will be the Segway-Parcours on the lower Rathausstraße, where everyone can gather first experiences and book tours. There will also be a lot of handmade products on the market.
Another highlight is the performance of the school girls' band "The Diamonds".

The attractive market offer and the specialty shops open for sale should show how varied the offer here is in Wissen. The Diamonds:
Developed about 3 years ago from the school band of the Hermann Gmeiner Realschule plus in Daaden. Here they had also their lessons at the instruments, all started with no instrument knowledge here to learn their instruments.
The band consists of 8 girls aged between 14 and 18. The line-up: drums, western guitar, electric guitars, ukulele, bass, keyboard and 2 singers. With numerous appearances in the region the band gained an excellent reputation and is booked for many occasions. In May of this year the band organized their first full evening concert. In January, at a youth band contest in Cologne, they took an excellent third place, with a total application of over 100 bands.
The first own CD "Shine on -The DIAMONDS" was released 2 months ago and contains pop and rock titles, partly in own interpretations.
