Libellen im Stöffel-Park

Description

The Stöffel Tertiary, Industrial and Adventure Park forms a heat island due to the vegetation-poor and dark basalt-dominated quarrying areas. Due to these thermally favorable conditions and the various bodies of water in the quarry, numerous dragonfly species find a habitat here.

Getting to know native dragonfly species

Philipp Schiefenhövel, biologist and nature conservation officer at the Will and Lieselot Masgeik Foundation, and Michaela Nilius from the Stöffel Association are looking forward to an exciting afternoon. For various dragonfly specimens are to be caught and their biology, way of life and endangerment presented.
