Artist's workshop at the Alte Burg Rotenhain:
Unique encounters with five renowned artists The Alte Burg Rotenhain will open its doors for an exclusive artist's workshop on 25 and 26 May 2024. Five international artists will offer participants the rare opportunity to work intensively with them for a whole day and learn their art techniques.
Irene Schön takes the participants into the world of paper folding. Under her guidance, fascinating objects are created from book pages using sophisticated folding techniques.
Sascha Ortseifer, affectionately known as "Ötzi", presents the magic of forging. The participants will conjure up a filigree rose made of red-hot iron while flying sparks.
Lia Hakhnazaryan shares her passion for flowers and music. She shows how flowers convey subtle energies and teaches the art of floral design.
Annegret Held, successful author from the Westerwald, takes the participants into the world of "Creative Writing". With a lot of humour, literary treasures are discovered and one's own creative spirit is unleashed.
Merrie O'Higgins, a graduate of the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, will lead the workshop on watercolour painting and present different techniques to find personal expression.
Participants will be able to switch between workshops and thus gain a wide range of artistic experiences. The creative work in the historical setting promises inspiring moments and surprising discoveries. A colourful art fair takes place around the Old Castle.
