The Raiffeisenhaus is the place of work of Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, who worked here from 1848 to 1852 as mayor of the "Samtgemeinde" (another name for Verbandsgemeinde) Flammersfeld and lived with his family.
In the original rooms on two floors, you will learn a lot about his life, his living conditions and the development of his well-known cooperative idea, which is based on his motto "What one cannot do, many can do".
Start your little journey through time on the ground floor, where you will find his office, as well as his office and kitchen. The upper floor, which can be reached via the old creaking staircase, is entirely dedicated to his cooperative idea. There is also a lot to explore in the outdoor area. The 250-year-old half-timbered house is surrounded by a large garden, which is equipped with numerous information boards, a reconstructed bakery and a cottage garden.
