Leo Lyons with Hundred Seventy Split 2019 for the 50th Woodstock anniversary Leo Lyons with HSS will play the complete Woodstock program of Ten Years After from 1969.
When Leo Lyons and Joe Gooch parted ways with Ten Years After years ago (Leo was co-founder of TYA), they took their own path with Hundred Seventy Split, which they now continue on the new album 'Tracks'. After 2 studio albums and the live double album 'The Road' their third album 'Tracks' with 11 new songs will be released.
The new album 'Tracks' also bears the signature of Leo Lyons (who was already on stage at the legendary Woodstock Festival) and Joe Gooch, who give their classic style in the British blues rock tradition a very special feeling to each song. The third drummer in the band is Damon Sawyer (ex-Paul Rodgers & Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings), an old buddy who gives the power trio the necessary groove.
Now Leo Lyons has already crossed the 70-mark and will certainly not reinvent the musical wheel, but with songs like 'The Game', 'You Can't Drink It' or 'Lonely' 'HSS' prove that musical potency is still very high. And as Leo notes, more importantly, the three have great fun with their music and that's what you hear on the whole album!
