We will explore enchanted places on the southern slopes of the Westerwald on our approx. 3 km long hike.
The idyllic Holzbach Gorge awaits you on our entertaining excursion. This place seems almost like a fairytale. You can expect to see mythical creatures on the moss-covered stones, refreshing their feet next to nature lovers at the stream. Bring a small towel. Be excited about our creek expedition where we can discover all sorts of things.
Pack a kitchen strainer or landing net.
Bring a can or bowl. Look forward to fantastic experiences.
After a short refreshment, we walk over a second bridge and further along the lively wood stream. Listen to the sounds of the forest.
For the crowning finale, we will stop at the Hofcafé Hofgut Dapprich at around 13:00. If you would like to join us, please register in addition to the hike. The Schneider family café is famous for its home-made, tasty cakes and pies. Here they serve with heart and soul.
The WesterwaldSteig celebrates its 15th birthday this year. On the anniversary event page, there is an overview of all the guided hikes on the occasion of the WesterwaldSteig's birthday, which is constantly updated. Every participant takes part in a raffle and has the chance to win attractive prizes from the region. The main prize is a ride in a hot air balloon, which promises a completely new perspective on the hiking paradise of the Westerwald.

Please note: Age from 4 - 10 years (walking a distance of 5 kilometres must be done alone or with the help of the adults accompanying the children). The route is not suitable for prams
Supervision is the responsibility of the adults accompanying the children!
Hints: Please bring:
-Sturdy shoes (rubber boots are recommended for the children) and clothing suitable for the weather.
-net or kitchen sieve
-Supplies of food and drinks
-Curiosity, a towel and a change of socks in case someone gets wet feet
-The event is cancelled in case of thunderstorms.
