Event
Orchestras from Great Britain (Northumbrian Winds), Switzerland (Musikvereinigung Niederhasli) and Germany (German Winds) will give joint concerts in the region (kulturWerk Wissen) and in Cologne Cathedral in September. "Torn by the beautiful scenery of Hachenburg's market square, Andy asked me if the orchestra couldn't give a concert there once in addition to the other concerts," Hellinghausen smiles. Conductor Andy Taylor has already been a guest at various concerts in the past and always stayed with his family in Hachenburg. There was no question about it, and in no time at all a traditional concert partner was found in the "Bindweider Bergkapelle" and a professional event partner in the Hachenburger Kulturzeit.
Both orchestras will present a colourful programme separately at the "Treffpunkt Alter Markt" and then play a few pieces together as an 80-strong ensemble. The British musicians have brought traditional English literature with them, but also some surprises, and the Bindweider Bergkapelle would like to present traditional pieces as well as "musical variety, for which the Bindweider Bergkapelle is known", as chairman Bernhard Vogel reveals.
Admission to the concert is free - in case of rain, it will take place in the Catholic church, just off the market square.
Start: 19:15
End: 22:00
